About Sam FormbySam Formby founded Enabled with a deeply personal understanding of what it means to face life-changing barriers.After surviving a brain haemorrhage at 16, Sam experienced a long and challenging recovery that reshaped his perspective on movement, independence, and support. He saw first-hand how difficult it can be to access the right facilities, the right equipment, and the right people, especially for individuals living with disabilities.Determined to create meaningful change, Sam combined his lived experience with his background in fitness and community work to build something better: a safe, inclusive space where disabled individuals can train with dignity and confidence.Enabled exists because Sam believes everyone deserves access to movement, no matter their ability. His journey fuels the charity’s mission, to remove barriers, empower independence, and make exercise truly accessible for all.
